چکیده
an experiment involving erosion simulation was conducted at the soil and water con-servation research center of the university of tehran. a split-factorial plot with four replications was designed. five soil desurfacing treatments of blank, 5, 10, 15, and 20 cm of soil surface removal (e0, e5, e10, e15, and e20) were carried out, respectively. fertilizer treatments were 0, 65, and 130 kg ha-1 of urea (equal to 0, 30, and 60 kg ha-1 of pure n) and 0, 107, and 214 kg ha-1 of triple super phosphate (equal to 0, 50, and 100 kg ha-1 of p2o5). wheat (triticum aestivum), sardary cultivar, was cultivated in november 2001. to-tal precipitation was 223 mm during the growing season and 336 mm for the whole year (23 september 2001–22 september 2002). in order to reduce the effect of drought stress, three supplementary irrigations were applied during the growing season (13mm each). the crop was harvested in july and plant density recorded. grain, dry matter and straw yields, as well as 1,000 grain weight were determined. the results showed that erosion had a significant effect (p

The effect of surface rock fragments deployment pattern on soil erosion processes under simulated conditions
Extended abstract 1- Introduction The Soil surface characteristics have significant effects on the erosion process. The wide areas of watershed soil surfaces are covered with considerable amounts of rocks and pebbles. Surface rock fragments, resulting in water connectivity, change during the erosion process. Rock fragments on the soil surface may increase the infiltration and reduce soil loss...
متن کاملEvaluation of Nitrogen Fertilizer on Yield and Yield Components of Bread and Durum Wheat Genotypes
The present study aimed at investigating the effect of different levels of nitrogen on yield and yield components of bread and durum wheat. To this end the experiment was conducted in 2010-2011 in south west of Iran as split plots based on randomized complete block design with three replications. Main plot included four levels of nitrogen 60, 120, 180, 240 kg.ha-1 and the sub plot included four...
متن کاملSurface Residue and Soil Moisture Affect Fertilizer Loss in Simulated Runoff on a Heavy Clay Soil
The potential for non-point-source pollution of surface waters from agricultural lands continues to be a concern. Our objective was to determine the effect of surface residue management and fertilizer application timing in regards to soil moisture conditions on nutrient losses in runoff. Studies were conducted using a rainfall simulator that applied 125 mm h-1 for 3 h to an Austin (Udorthentic ...
متن کاملApplication of Landfill Leachate Improves Wheat Nutrition and Yield but Has Minor Effects on Soil Properties.
Landfill leachates, which are potential pollutants, may also carry significant amounts of nutrients that can be recycled by plants. We assessed the nutritional status and yield of wheat ( L.) and properties of a Rhodic Kandiudult soil (depths of 0-10, 10-20, 20-40, and 40-60 cm) after 11 applications of landfill leachate over 4 yr. In the last application, wheat received 0, 32.7, 65.4, 98.1, or...
